Sorry to those who have already read this through other postings.

I just was informed this morning that an area caller, John Steckman, passed away while out in Arizona. He was one of our staff callers during TAQC last summer. It comes as quite a shock and is such a loss for the challenge community in our local area.

Personally, it was even more shocking and saddening. Stuff like this makes for a very bad morning. If there is a bright side to missing convention, it would be that now I can go to the service on Saturday.

Thanks for letting me vent.

There were several very emotional parts that I really had to control myself so I wasn't some loud blubbering gumba. We will have euchre going on in the computer room. Some kind of game going on in the living room. We may even show the convention video. Heavy drinking will be going on in every room from the porch on throw the apartment. The Raffle exchange will start at 11 and be finished in time for the ball to drop. Once the midnight toast is over and the kisses and hugs have subsided, the barrage of bad karoke will ensue. Who would know my inlaws live 200 feet away.

Lots of friends, alcohol, fun, alcohol, good times, alcohol and memories. Just the way I want to bring in the new year.
